Can Yoga Help With Depression?

Have you ever felt depressed? If so, you’re not alone. According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), major depression is one of the most common mental disorders in the United States. Additionally, women are more prone to depression versus men. Depression is clinically defined as “a period of two weeks or longer during which there is either depressed mood or loss of interest or pleasure, and at least four other symptoms that reflect a change in functioning, such as problems with sleep, eating, energy, concentration, and self-image” based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
